Die Insel ist eines der \u00e4ltesten frei zug\u00e4nglichen Freilichtmuseen Deutschlands.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Sie liegt auf einem Teil der Festungsanlage, die entstand, als die Schweden in Stade waren: auf dem so genannten Bleicher-Ravelin. Das in Fu\u00dfn\u00e4he zur Altstadt gelegene idyllische Gel\u00e4nde ist auch heute noch mit dem Burggraben vollst\u00e4ndig von Wasser umgeben.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Zu dem Ensemble auf der Insel z\u00e4hlt ein Altl\u00e4nder Bauernhaus von 1733 mit reichem Schmuckmauerwerk, das noch die urspr\u00fcngliche Raumaufteilung und einen Gro\u00dfteil der Einrichtung zeigt. Die Insel-Gastst\u00e4tte ist in einem Geest-Bauernhaus mit einem Giebel aus 1641 untergebracht. Sehenswert ist auch die Bockwindm\u00fchle und eine typische Alt\u00e4nder Prunkpforte.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Vor dem Ausbau Stades zur schwedischen Festung befand sich zwischen der sp\u00e4teren K\u00f6nigsmarck-Bastion und der Gr\u00fcndel-Bastion die B\u00fcrgerbleiche: Wiesen, auf denen die B\u00fcrger ihr gewaschenes Leinenzeug in der Sonne bleichen konnten. 1662 wurden die beiden Bastionen errichtet und 1692-94 aus dem Rest der Bleicherwiesen der Bleicher-Ravelin, die heutige Insel, gebaut.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
