Funfair in Stade
Spring and autumn funfairs Am Sande
When the funfair is in town, fans of merry-go-rounds, lottery, throwing and shooting booths really get their money’s worth.
Candyfloss, roasted almonds, ice cream, cakes, waffles, crêpes, liquorice and candy apples, scampi, fish sandwiches, mushrooms, sausages, pizza, Asian specialities, chips and much more also attract visitors to the town centre.
Rides such as the bumper cars, the Hip Hop Jumper ride, and a labyrinth make guest appearances on the central Am Sande fairground. The Beat Box, children’s carousels, duck fishing, throwing and shooting booths and other stalls are located throughout the historic town centre. Snack and sales stands are located in Breite Straße and Holzstraße.

Autumn fair: Thursday, 24 September, to Monday, 28 September 2026

- Thursday, 18 September, 2.15pm: Opening at the Pferdemarkt square, corner of Sattelmacherstraße (Performance by the Pestalozzi Primary School choir. Conducted by Anja Köttgen and Maren Goldhammer)
- Thursday, 18 September: Coupon day: Find the coupon overview available at the shops in the historic town centre and enjoy special discounts today.
- Friday, 19 September, 7.30 pm: Lantern parade from Schwedenspeicher through the historic town centre to Pferdemarkt square
- Sunday, 21 September, 1 pm, 3 pm & 5 pm: Punch and Judy show (free of charge) at Pferdemarkt square (in front of Modehaus Peters)
- Monday, 22 September: Family day with reduced prices.

- Thursday, 19 September – coupon campaign with savings offers
- Friday, 20 September, 7.30 pm – Lantern procession with marching band: Accompanied by music and lanterns, the parade will make its way through Stade town centre to Am Sande square. Meeting point is the Schwedenspeicher.
- Sunday, 22 September, 1 pm; 3 pm; 5 pm – The Punch and Judy show comes to visit: The Gnarrenburg puppet theatre is back in town with three new funny plays. The magician Spitzbart and the witch Wackelzahn will be there, but the devil will also be visiting. Three performances at the Pferdemarkt (near Modehaus Peters).
- Monday, 23 September – Family day with reduced prices.
The Pestalozzi Primary School choir will perform at the opening of the fair.
On Sunday, 14 April, Harry Hoppe’s Punch and Judy show will be performing at 1 pm, 3 pm and 5 pm.
The highly anticipated family day with great offers for young and old is on Monday, 15 April.

Coupon campaign with savings offers
Thursday, 18 September
The funfair starts with a big coupon promotion on Thursday! The vouchers, which can be downloaded here, will save you a pretty penny on food and rides. Simply download the page, print it out, cut out the coupons and hand them in at the respective stand – it’s as easy as that to enjoy the funfair at discounted prices.
6. lantern parade at the funfair
Friday, 20 September, 7.30 pm
The sixth lantern procession at the fair in Stade will take place on 20 September 2024! Accompanied by the Drochtersen marching band, the procession for young and old will start at 7.30 pm in front of the Schwedenspeicher museum at the Fischmarkt. From there, the festive crowd with its bright lanterns accompanied by cheerful music will make its way through the nightly streets to the fairground at Am Sande.
Important: Please do not bring any torches – only lanterns are allowed to ensure the safety of all participants.
