Kunstpunkt Schleusenhaus art centre
A fresh take on art from the North
The Schleusenhaus (lock house) was formerly the lock keeper’s official residence and was renovated and refurbished from 1999 onwards with the help of vocational school projects, volunteers and sponsors. When it opened in 2003, the former ruin was transformed into a small, elegant exhibition centre.
In addition to regularly changing art exhibitions, which are presented in the Kunstpunkt Schleusenhaus, members of the art association have the opportunity to present their own works.
The Kunstverein Stade e. V.
Since its formation in 1989, the Kunstverein Stade e.V. has been active in the field of fine arts in the Hanseatic city of Stade. It has set itself the task of encouraging public interest in the visual arts and sees itself as a mediator between artists and the public. Each exhibition is seen as an experiment, which the organisation is happy to take on. Painting, contemporary art, experimental art, photography, sculpture, objects and installations are exhibited here.
The Kunstpunkt Schleusenhaus art centre gives well-known artists the space they need to present their work. Exhibiting works by as yet unknown talents is also of great importance to the association.
