Travelling to the Hanseatic city in your own car

The Hanseatic city of Stade is located south of Hamburg and can be reached by car via the A26 motorway and the B73 federal road.

From the A1 motorway (Hansaline), you can reach Stade from Hamburg via the Rade junction and from Bremen via the Sittensen junction. The road to Stade is signposted from there.

Coming from Bremen, you can also reach Stade via the B74 federal road. Coming from the Weser Tunnel or from Bremerhaven, first take A27 motorway to the Bremerhaven-Fischereihafen junction and follow the B71, then the B74 to Stade.

From south-west Schleswig-Holstein, take the Elbe ferry Glückstadt-Wischhafen to the Obstmarschenweg, which will take you to Stade.

Coming from the Elbe tunnel (A7 motorway), it is best to leave the A7 at the Hamburg-Waltershof junction. Via Finkenwerder and Cranz you can also reach the Obstmarschenweg, which will take you to Stade.
