Travelling by plane

Stade is just a stone’s throw away from Hamburg International Airport (HAM). Regardless of how far you travelled to get to Hamburg, one thing is certain: the journey from the airport to Stade only takes around 90 minutes.
The S1 suburban railway line is easy to reach, as it starts right from the airport. It leaves for Hamburg city centre every 10 minutes. We recommend changing to the S3 at the Jungfernstieg stop (on the opposite platform). If you prefer the more comfortable RE5 regional train, take the S1 to HH-Hauptbahnhof and change there.
Incidentally, small general aviation aircraft can fly directly to Stade: The airfield in the Ottenbeck district is just a 10-minute drive from the city centre.
