Accessibility statement
STADE Marketing und Tourismus GmbH strives to make its website accessible in accordance with the Lower Saxony Disability Equality Act (NBGG) for the implementation of Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council. The statement on digital accessibility is required by the Lower Saxony Disability Equality Act (NBGG).
This accessibility statement applies to
the website www.stade-tourismus.de and all subpages.
These websites and applications are mostly, but not yet fully, accessible. The requirements of BITV 2.0 are largely fulfilled.
The following functions are currently supported:
– Sufficient contrast
– Enlarge font/display: Enlarging the page display with the common browsers (for example Firefox, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Opera and Apple Safari) is done with ‘CTRL’ and ‘+’ on Windows and with ‘cmd’ and ‘+’ on Apple.
– Reduce font/display size: To reduce the size of the page display with the common browsers (e.g. Firefox, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Opera and Apple Safari), use ‘CTRL’ and ‘-’ on Windows and ‘cmd’ and ‘-’ on Apple.
– Responsive web design: the website content automatically adapts to the screen size of the device being used
– A browser-side read-aloud function for texts (for example from Firefox 49.0) is supported. No other read-aloud tool is available.
– Logical structure and organisation of content
– Simple language design of the editorial content
The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons:
– Documents embedded in the website (.pdf, .doc, etc.)
Justification: The large number of documents provided, some of which are already older, has not yet made it possible to transfer them into an accessible format. The files are to be adapted in the long term.
Documents provided by third parties (e.g. other organisations, DMOs, associations, etc.) are not accessible.
– Videos integrated into the website
Justification: It has not yet been possible to provide the videos with an audio description. An adaptation is also being planned here in the long term.
– Cartography within the website
Rationale: A cartographic representation is a helpful and very useful addition to information. Cartography is essentially a pictorial representation, which therefore cannot fulfil the requirements of the BITV.
– Providing alternative texts for images. When the mouse hovers over an image, the image content is explained. This information is taken into account by read-aloud software.
Justification: It has not yet been possible to add alternative texts to the images used. This is to be adapted in the near future.
Note on the sample statement on accessibility
