Stade SUP Club
From Hawaii to Stade
The SUP Club Stade offers hands-on activities on the Burggraben around Stade’s historic city centre and on the river Schwinge. Take the whole family, friends or loved ones on an active discovery tour on a stand-up paddle board, canoe, kayak or pedal boat. Surrounded by idyllic greenery, the view from the water offers a completely new perspective of Stade’s historic city centre.
After completing your exercise session, a summer terrace right by the water and cold drinks invite you to refresh and relax. The view of the water and the pleasant feeling of having done some exercise are particularly delightful.
Stand-up paddling
Stand-up paddling – the leisure sport is currently conquering Germany and the whole world. And Stade is right at the forefront: stand-up paddling allows you to get to know cities and natural landscapes from a completely new perspective. It’s like walking or jogging on the water. The boards are reminiscent of surfboards, but are longer and more stable. You can stand comfortably on the SUP board and move elegantly across the water with a long paddle. Currently the fastest growing water sport, SUP is very easy to learn and works every muscle in the body. SUP offers fun for every fitness level and inspires paddlers of all ages.
Canoe, kayak and pedal boat
From the base of the SUP Club Stade at “Stade Beach”, there are numerous opportunities to experience Stade from the water. Families, groups and individual adventurers can hire canoes and kayaks or a pedal boats right there at the harbour Holzhafen near the city centre. There is a choice of 1 and 2-seater kayaks as well as 2, 3 and 4-seater canoes.
Groups are advised to book well in advance. We recommend canoe tours along the Burggraben canal with a stopover and small picnic on the island or the beautiful river tour along the upper reaches of the Schwinge in the middle of the enchanting Schwinge meadows.
Grill & Float with the "BBQ-donut"
The “BBQ-donut” is a special kind of watercraft: the small, circular boat, which is powered by an environmentally friendly electric motor, can accommodate up to 10 people. The integrated coal-fired barbecue makes the adventure on the water perfect. It’s the perfect way to combine a delicious meal with a maritime sightseeing tour around Stade’s historic city centre.
SUP yoga on the Burggraben
While the SUP board is more about keeping the body in balance, yoga adds the element of inner balance – a unique combination of movement, relaxation, fun and nature.
The SUP Club Stade offers two different yoga courses in collaboration with Rieke Buning from KarmaCouch. In both, the muscles are warmed up during a 30-minute paddle session and the participants can first develop a feeling for the movement on the board. This is followed by a 40-minute yoga session on the board before another, more relaxed paddle cooldown on the Burggraben back to the SUP Club.
