Stade's marinas
Holidays on your own boat in Stade
An area for experienced sailors and motorboat captains as well as for quiet connoisseurs – for all those who want to experience something very special. Four harbours await your arrival. Drop anchor in the Stade Stadthafen (City harbour), for example, and you are moored right at the gates of the historic town centre.
The Stade marinas are located on the river Schwinge, which flows into the Elbe at Stadersand. Three clubs have their jetties on the river. All of the clubs offer guest moorings. Many pleasure boat skippers follow the further course of the Schwinge and sail through to the Stadthafen.
Stade Stadthafen
In the Stade Stadthafen (City harbour), you can moor on 160 metres of modern floating jetties with power connections and are conveniently located at the heart of the city centre. The harbour is particularly busy with guest boats on weekends.
The Stadthafen is fully equipped with a harbour master’s office, toilets, showers, drinking water and power sockets on the jetties, washing machine and dryer. The tourist information office and an entertainment centre with bistros, restaurant, hotel, cinema and bowling alley are located directly on the harbour. Sailmakers, repair shops for boats, propulsion and electrics as well as accessory shops, banks, post office, doctors and pharmacies are close to the harbour. Other amenities, sights, museums and restaurants can be found in the city centre, which is less than 5 minute walk away.
Sailing Club Stade
Coming from the river Elbe, you first reach the marina of the Stade Sailing Club. Just behind the barrage, the pontoon moorings are located in an old branch of the Schwinge as well as directly in the main river.
The boats can be moored in boxes or lengthways. The harbour has a ship lifting facility, a mast crane and a dinghy slip (limited). The clubhouse is located above the pontoons and can be used on reservation. The club provides bicycles for hire free of charge to explore the surrounding area and the Hanseatic town of Stade, approx. 5 km away, with all its amenities.
Guest moorings are welcome on free pitches. The harbour is dependent on the tide and can sometimes run dry at extremely low tide; the barrage can cause considerable currents downstream at times.
Sportclub Diamant
The Sportclub Diamant is located a little further into the city centre. In the early 1980s, an old brickyard harbour was dredged into a marina, which was later expanded to accommodate 54 berths.
The access to the harbour is tide-dependent, as it dries out approx. 2 to 2.5 hours before and after low tide, in accordance with the water level and draught. The harbour is accessible from the river Schwinge on starboard approx. 200 m before the industrial railway bascule bridge towards the city centre. A slipway and a mast crane are available. There is a restaurant approx. 1.5 km away, shopping facilities approx. 2.5 km away and the historic town centre approx. 3 km away.
