Stade Vintner Festival

Socialising with wine and specialities

When the Pferdemarkt square in Stade transforms into a little paradise for wine lovers, it’s time for the Stade Wine Festival – the culinary event of the year for anyone who enjoys a relaxed atmosphere, good wine and mild summer evenings.
Over the course of four days, visitors can not only taste but also experience: over 250 wines, sparkling wines and hand-picked specialities from wineries in various wine-growing regions in Germany invite you to relax, raise a glass and explore new flavours. Get expert recommendations directly from the producers and pour yourself a glass – it doesn’t get more authentic than this.
Under the green canopy of the tree-lined avenue at Pferdemarkt square, among the stylishly decorated wine booths, a special atmosphere unfolds: urban, yet relaxed and even a little romantic. Delicious snacks, as well as sweet and savoury treats will be the perfect pairing for Riesling, Rosé & Co. Whether it’s an after-work gathering with friends, a date on a summer evening or simply a spontaneous excursion into the delicious world of wine – everyone will create a new favourite memory here.

Grand opening with the German Wine Queen

The ceremonial opening of the Stade Wine Festival will take place on Thursday at 6 pm in the presence of the 75th German Wine Queen Eva Brockmann.

Eva Brockmann is a winegrower, comes from a wine-growing region in Franconia and is representing the German winegrowers this year. As German Wine Queen, it is her task to convince experts and consumers at home and abroad of the quality, diversity and uniqueness of the wines from the German wine regions with her expertise and wine knowledge. She is particularly committed to keeping up with current trends in the wine industry, such as the qualitative development of non-alcoholic wines.

During an internship at Winery Giegerich in Franconia, Eva Brockmann discovered her love for grape juices at the age of 16 and began her bachelor’s degree in oenology soon after completing her training as a winemaker. “For me, wine is enjoyment, a cultural asset, regionality and a way of life,” says the wine queen.
