On the Hunt for the Key to Stade

The Hanseatic city of Stade now offers a new interactive city tour for children – perfect for families, school classes and little explorers. The child-friendly tour is based on the popular carnival fairy tale ‘When Peter Menken stole the key to Stade’ and combines exciting puzzles with playful knowledge about the historic old town.

An exciting detective mission for children

The notorious troublemaker Peter Menken is said to have stolen the key to Stade. But his girlfriend Gertrude is convinced that this cannot be true! To prove Peter’s innocence, she needs the help of clever young detectives. Together, the children embark on a search for the key through Stade, solving tricky tasks and puzzles along the way.

A journey of discovery through the historic old town

The children’s city tour leads to many of the most significant sights in Stade, such as the Schwedenspeicher museum, the Fischmarkt square, St. John’s monastery, St. Cosmae Church, the historic town hall, the Rosenbrücke bridge and the island on the Burggraben river.

During the tour, children not only experience an exciting story, but also learn a lot about the history of the Hanseatic city of Stade, important buildings and historical events.
