"Afglitscht" – Eisstock sport
Eisstock at the Hansehafen
This year, we are once again taking you to the ice rink: during the festive season, the curling rink will be located at Wasser West in front of the Schwedenspeicher museum.
Eisstock sport is a traditional team game that has regained popularity in recent years as a popular winter leisure activity. It is played in groups and is an ideal team acitivity for colleagues, friends, family, school classes or birthday parties.
The group will be divided into two teams competing against each other. The aim is to shoot the ice stock as close as possible to a given target.
Interested groups can now reserve time slots in advance. The project is a co-operation between STADE Marketing und Tourismus GmbH, Fuerkiek and Stade aktuell.

Good to know
The 2 x 16-metre Eisstock rink will be set up at Wasser West. The rink uses synthetic ice and does not require electricity or water.
The rink is open daily from 1 pm from 25 November to 27 December.
Opening hours:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: 1 pm to 9 pm
Thursday, Friday, Saturday: 1 pm to 9 pm
Sunday: 1 pm to 9 pm
You can book single 60-minute sessions or consecutive two-hour sessions for a longer playing time.
It is recommended to reserve a time slot in advance. Reservations for the same day can be made right up until midday. Tickets can be purchased online or during opening hours at the tourist information centre at the harbour or by calling 04141-776980.
Ideal group size: up to 8 players.
More players can play if the ice stocks are shared. In this case, there may be waiting times.
Sturdy winter footwear and waterproof clothing are recommended.

Festive offers for everyone
Eisstock sport is great for outdoor Christmas get-togethers. With plenty of great things to do in Stade this festive season, you can easily plan a fun-packed Christmas event. Wether you add a guided Christmas tour to start with, end with a Christmas feast in a cosy atmosphere or enjoy a delicious wintery barbecue, there is a variety of fun activities to complete the perfect day in Stade. Below we have put together three different package deals combining some of our best Christmas activities.
"Afglitscht" - Nordic nordic
The ‘Sünna Klaas’ guided Christmas tour leads through the festively decorated historic town centre to discover some magical Christmas stories from Stade. Afterwards, the group can enjoy a fun competition on the ice in the Hanseatic harbour. After the ice stock game, the festively decorated SUP Club by the water will be hosting a Christmas outdoor barbecue event for the group. A variety of meats, vegetarian specialities and flambéed salmon will be served from the grill. Tasty side dishes and a varied selection of drinks round off the outdoor dining experience. Enjoy time around the campfire in the open air.
"Afglitscht" - North meets South
This package combines culinary delights from sunny Spain with ice stock sport, the winter highlight from the far north. A stroll through the beautiful Hanseatic city of Stade is also a must: the entertaining ‘Sünna Klaas’ guided Christmas tour combines festive traditions and anecdotes from Stade’s rich past. The programme concludes with a glass of the famous Feuerzangenbowle (a hot rum punch) and a platter of Mediterranean-inspired tapas, served in a cosy Christmas atmosphere.
Afglitscht with Hanseatic Christmas dinner
The afternoon begins with a ‘Sünna Klaas’ guided Christmas tour through the picturesque historical town centre of Stade. There are plenty of interesting stories and anecdotes about Christmas in Stade, past and present, waiting to be discovered. After an hour of ice stock sport at the historic Hansehafen harbour, you have the opportunity to enjoy a bite to eat just a few steps down the road. A Christmas hot drink will be provided to warm you up. The evening can be brought to a relaxing close with a festive Christmas dinner.
